Consciousness : 2009 by ~onthehouse is a very well-executed film. Settings and music are very well-utilized and motivated, and period-costumes really bring this piece to life. It's a curious production that captivates as we are lead about by the stream of consciousness of the main character, transitions and edits between scenes nice and smooth. Visual effects and filters add to the dream-like reality of this film, and make it quite fun to watch. A great production by a talented deviant!

Set in the 18th Century, "Consciousness: The Last and Lasting Memories of Alexandra Morgan" tells the tale of Alexandra, a strong-minded girl orphaned at a young age and overcoming the recent death of her sister. In this dramatic and thrilling short film Alexandra finds herself in an impossible situation, waking up in a mysterious garden and reliving moments from her life. As she delves deeper into the memories the dark truth behind her situation unfolds...
This is my second short film. It is loosely inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar". I wrote the story and screenplay and directed and edited all myself on a micro budget. My actors are friends and family but *wait* before that puts you off they're actually good performances.

Beautifully done! I found 'M. Valdemar' a most interesting story. Believe it or not, I was first drawn to it because of the song 'Sleep Waker' by Swedish metal band Carnal Agony, which I eventually learned was based on it. (You may not have heard of them; last I checked, they have no Wikipedia page even.)
